Dr. Frank Emmert

Indianapolis, IN

Frank is the John S. Grimes Professor of Law and Director of the Center for International and Comparative Law at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. He teaches International Business and Trade Law, International Investment Law, European Union Law, Blockchain and Digital Currency Law, Artificial Intelligence Regulation, as well as International Commercial Arbitration, and Public Policy Mediation. As an arbitrator and consultant, Frank has 30 years of experience primarily in international commercial disputes, investment disputes, technology- and IP-related disputes. He advises on various matters of EU law, including antitrust or competition law, external trade and internal market, GDPR, and the new AI Regulation. Over 200 publications and presentations are available on ResearchGate. In addition to FCIArb, he is also a member of the Silicon Valley Arbitration and Mediation Center.

Federico Martens Alva

Mexico City

Federico is a dispute resolution practitioner with nearly two decades of experience, specializing in high-stakes international and domestic disputes across key industries, including power, financial, technology, and oil & gas.

Ten years ago, Federico founded Martens Abogados, recognized as one of Mexico's leading litigation boutiques. He recently achieved fellowship status with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is currently pursuing its prestigious Oxford Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration.

Federico holds a law degree from a leading Mexican university and an LLM from the University of Chicago. Known for his expertise in navigating complex cases, his work has frequently resulted in landmark decisions and influential judicial precedents.

In addition to his practice, Federico regularly teaches substantive and procedural law at Mexico’s top law schools. For the past four years, he has also served on the board of Mexico's Corporate Counsel Association.

Jill Goldenziel

Washington, DC

Jill Goldenziel is a Professor at the National Defense University-College of Information and Cyberspace, where she teaches future generals and senior civilian officials from 83 countries. She is a Fellow in NATO’s SHAPE Office of Legal Affairs and a Senior Affiliated Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania’s Fox Leadership International Program. She served as an assistant on ICSID investor-state arbitration tribunals including Teinver v. Argentina, Sodexo v. Hungary, and Viaduct v. Bosnia. She also advises businesses on leadership and geopolitical risk through her consultancy, Jill Goldenziel Strategy. Her award-winning scholarship appears in top journals, and she is a columnist for Forbes.com and Bloomberg. She is a CIArb Fellow and received the 2022 NATO Serge Lazareff Prize and a 2023 Joint Civilian Service Achievement Medal. She holds a Ph.D. from Harvard, a J.D. from NYU Law, and an A.B. from Princeton.
